Czech doctor and professor in the field of medical biochemistry, clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. He graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at Charles University in Prague and is also a graduate of the Prague International School of Management at the University of Economics in Prague.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

His main research interests include oxidative stress, advanced glycation end products (AGE), experimental nephrology, tumor markers, and laboratory management and accreditation.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

He is a co-author of 71 books and a member of several scientific societies, including the Czech Medical Academy and the Scholarly Society of the Czech Republic.<\/strong> He serves on several boards including the EFLM Commission and the Education Committee of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. He was a member of the Scientific Panel for Health (SPH) of the European Commission. He has received a number of awards<\/strong>, including the President of the Czech Medical Chamber’s Award for Contribution to Lifelong Learning.<\/p>

Since 2014, he has been the rector of Charles University in Prague<\/strong>, where he was re-elected to this position for a second term in 2017. He is the head of the Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and the General University Hospital in Prague.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
